COMPASS

The purpose/mission of COMPASS is to promote comradery and scholarship in both academic and social settings for those who share an interest in Comparative Literature as a discipline and support the Comparative Literature Program at the University of Georgia.

The primary purposes of COMPASS are to organize social and academic events for Comparative Literature graduate students, facilitate professional development activities and events, and serve the needs of Comparative Literature graduate students. Officers are elected annually, and all graduate students in the Comparative Literature program are considered members of COMPASS though participation is voluntary.

 Duties are to:

  1. Handle all official external communications.
  2. Attend all necessary meetings and orientations organized by the Center for Student Activities.
  3. Register the Organization at the beginning of every Academic Year.
  4. Call meetings.
  5. Finalize agenda (if applicable) for meetings.
  6. Preside over meetings.

  1. Handle all official internal communications.
  2. Prepare and circulate agenda for meetings.
  3. Officiate in absence of the President.

Duties are to:

  1. Account and budget.
  2. Collaborate on fund raising and source with other office bearers.
  3. Manage finances

Duties are to:

  1. Record Quorum and convene meetings.
  2. Record and circulate minutes of all meetings.
  3. Record attendance and participation of Graduate Students, Teaching Assistants and Faculty.
