The Department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies would like to congratulate Hyunjin Lee and Casandra Aigbogun for their outstanding dedication to teaching and helping to fulfill the department's mission by providing students with instruction of the highest quality!

CMLT 3080 explores the ethical and sociopolical issues raised by robots, androids, and autamata through both a survey of representations in literature, film, and critical theory, as well as drawing from modern advances in robotics, artificial intelligence, etc.

Were myths merely the irrational fantasies of unsophisticated or unenlightened peoples? Or is it possible that they represent a facet of human thinking that is as much with us today as ever? This course will explore these questions and more!

Dr. Mi-Ryong Shim recently participated in “Global Studies”, a panel about humanities research at UGA and beyond as part of the inaugural UGA Humanities Festival.

Congratulations to Dong Yang, a class of 2022 Ph.D. graduate and Graduate Teaching Assistant in Comparative Literature, who has a position at Grinnell College, teaching Chinese language, literature and film Classes!

The Center for Teaching and Learning administers the Outstanding Teaching Assistant (OTA) award, sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Instruction. This award recognizes teaching assistants who demonstrate superior instructional skills while serving in the classroom or laboratory.

Placement tests for Asian languages will be held during office hours the first week of classes. If you are interested in taking a Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Vietnamese language class in the fall and need a placement test, you can contact the following instructors to set up an appointment.
